Silicon Valley computer scientist, author of numerous UFO books including Anatomy of a Phenomenon, Passport to Magonia, Challenge to Science, Messenger of Deception, and Dimensions among other historical UFO books. Tesitified at UN hearings stating that serious study was needed regarding UFOs, was reportedly the model for the government scientist in the move Close Encounter of the Third Kind, worked closey with Dr. Hynek.

George Knapp has been the only journalist to take
a hard look at the UFO issue at the risk of his professional reputation.
Knapp turned the world onto Area 51 and he produced what is still considered
one of the finest UFO documentaries ever produced, UFOs:
The Best Evidence. Knapp has brought with him
an air of credibility to the UFO subject. Knapp is also unafraid to expose
frauds in this field and he has worked closely with NIDS on the mystery
Utah ranch.

Dolan is one of the few UFO folks out there to take on a serious historical/political examination of the UFO situation. Dolan's book UFOs and the National Security State is considered required reading for anyone with a serious interest in the UFO subject.

"You simply cannot dismiss the possibility that some of these UFO sightings are actually sightings from some object created by an advanced civilization, a civilization far out in space, a civilization perhaps millions of years ahead of us in technology. You simply cannot discount that possibility." Dr.Kaku has been the biggest breath of fresh air to the UFO debate in years. A man not ready to make incredible claims of ET visitation or the validity of UFO sightings, Dr.Kaku isn't quick to rush to judement and dismiss all UFO reports as fluff fairy tales either. Dr.Kaku's appearance on the ABC UFO special with Peter Jennnings was simply amazing and he summed up the UFO situation in such a simple way, "When you look at the handful, the handful of cases that cannot be easily dismissed, this is worthy of scientific investigation. Maybe there's nothing there. However, on the off chance that there is something there that could literally change the course of human history, so I say, let the investigation begin." Indeed.
The co-author of UFO books, including the controversial
book The Abduction Enigma, Estes was a no nonsense investigator not
afraid of telling people how it was. Estes used his filmmaking and producing
talents in making a thirteen-part documentary on the subject of UFOs. Notably,
Estes had a reputation for confronting hoaxers and con artists, and for
not having any patience with the bullshit factor in UFOlogy. Estes directly
confronted UFO snakeoil salesman Sean
David Morton on one of many of Morton's bogus
educational claims during an episode of The Montel Williams Show, as well
as having disproved several other Morton claims. Sadly in January 2005 Estes
passed away due to complications from diabetes. While Estes was viewed as
a hardened skeptic, truth is that Estes was a UFO proponent. Estes had a
side not many in UFO circles knew about - he was a
world class award winning artist.
